Notice an unpleasant odor in your neighborhood?

Help DEM track odor patterns and respond to potential environmental concerns. You can either report an odor observation or file an environmental complaint—both provide valuable information to protect air quality and investigate potential environmental issues.

Report an Industrial Odor for DEM Monitoring Data

Use this form to report odors from industrial facilities, landfills, wastewater treatment plants, or environmental cleanup sites. Your report helps DEM collect important data:

  • Identify odor patterns and trends
  • Evaluate potential air quality concerns
  • Prioritize monitoring and response efforts

Important: While every submission is reviewed, reports submitted through this form are used to track trends and are not considered individual complaints requiring an immediate response. If you want to file a complaint, do so below.

File an Environmental Complaint

If you believe an environmental law or regulation has been violated, you can submit an environmental complaint. Complaint reports help DEM’s Office of Compliance and Inspection (OC&I) investigate suspected violations of environmental laws and regulations, perform monitoring or regulated activities, and take appropriate action. Complaints are public records, and information you provide will be available for public review UNLESS you advise us that you wish to remain anonymous.
