Air Permitting
The Office of Air Resources issues air permits for stationary sources that emit pollutants into the ambient (outdoor) air above permitting thresholds. A stationary source is any building, structure, or facility that emits or may emit a regulated air pollutant. Air pollutants include criteria air pollutants and air toxics, which are classified as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
