State Fire Marshal, DEM Investigators Have Identified Campsite as Possible Starting Point of Exeter Wildfire

PROVIDENCE, RI – Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) Division of Law Enforcement have been investigating the cause of the fire in Exeter. Earlier today, investigators were informed by firefighters of an area of interest and responded to the Queen River Nature Preserve, which showed evidence of a campsite. Several items were recovered from the area. The investigation is ongoing.
