Join us on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:15 AM – 4:30 PM at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island, for an exciting all-day event for youth ages 14–18. This immersive experience combines learning, connection, and action, all focused on climate change and environmental leadership.
One of the event’s key goals is for each team to begin developing ideas for a climate action plan they can bring back to their community. After the event, teams will have the opportunity to receive support and apply for funding to bring their ideas to life.
During the all-day event, teams will:
- Connect with like-minded peers and build relationships.
- Hear from guest speakers about their efforts to make a positive impact on the Rhode Island environment, including Chris Gaynor
Community Engagement Specialist with Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management
- Deepen their understanding of the causes and mechanisms of climate change through hands-on activities.
- Learn about conservation and sustainability efforts in Rhode Island, and explore opportunities for engagement through study, work, and volunteerism.
- Develop job skills such as public speaking, collaboration, goal-setting, and self-reliance.
- Be empowered to take action on climate change and advocate for environmental justice in their local communities.
