Why it matters: Since 1938, the Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, commonly known as the Duck Stamp, has supported wetland conservation across the United States. Funds generated from stamp sales have helped protect and restore critical habitats, making it one of the most successful wildlife conservation efforts in the country.

Established in 1991, the Junior Duck Stamp Program is an educational extension of the Federal Duck Stamp that promotes wetland conservation and wildlife awareness through art and science. The first stamp was produced by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1992, with proceeds supporting student and educator awards, incentives, and scholarships.
