Public Comment Hearing for Amendments to DEM’s Water Quality Regulations

Changes are proposed to the RI DEM Water Quality Regulations (250-RICR-150-05-1).  These changes are necessary to implement legislation passed by the General Assembly during the 2022 legislative session.  Specifically, RIGL § 46-32-6. Surface Water Quality Action Levels for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances directs the Department to establish surface water quality action levels for certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances by December 31, 2023.  The proposed rule text is available on the R.I. Secretary of State’s web page.
