Thriving farms, aquaculture and fisheries are at the core of a healthy local and regional food system by providing fresh and delicious food, supporting livelihoods, creating a sense of community and protecting open land and coastal waters for future generations. Rhode Island farms and fisheries are growing, however there are still significant barriers to farm and fishery viability including lack of access to capital, land development and supply chain pressures, labor shortages and lack of access to local markets.

Join the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, CommerceRI, and partners at URI and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to connect with other producers in the agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries industries. Learn about financing tools, grants, and other business support programs available the farmer and fisher community in Rhode Island. Contribute to the development of a renewed food vision as the state begins to update the 2017 Food Strategy “Relish Rhody” which will inform future policy and investments.
