Learning forum focused on the sources and fates of plastics in the Narragansett Bay watershed

The Narragansett Bay Estuary Program and Roger Williams University invite community members to attend a free symposium, “Macro to Microplastic in Narragansett Bay.” This is the first event in a series focused on taking action to reduce plastic pollution in the Narragansett Bay region. Public concern about plastic pollution has fueled multiple bills in recent legislative sessions. This full-day, zero-waste event aims to convene researchers, environmental advocates, resource managers, and the public to explore the current science of plastic, from source to sea. Fifteen speakers will discuss local sources of plastic pollution, the impacts of plastic pollution on Narragansett Bay habitats and wildlife, and the next steps for local research on plastic pollution.

Registration deadline: September 30, 2022 | Registration is required and free. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
