Listening Session (Virtual) on Rhode Island's Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) Process
As we slide into 2024, RIDEM is moving ahead with developing an application for EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) planning process and funding opportunity. The time has come to identify priority projects the state can invest in to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Before the state can apply for actual CPRG funding to support projects, we are required to submit, by March 1, 2024, a PRIORITY CLIMATE ACTION PLAN, or PCAP. So, what is a PCAP you may be wondering?
Rhode Island’s PCAP needs to include a focused list of near-term, high-priority, implementation ready projects to reduce GHG emissions and an analysis of GHG emissions reductions that would be achieved through implementation. Of particular interest are projects that will help advance the goals of the Justice40 Initiative. We are looking to hear from you about what types of projects RI should uplift as “priority projects”.
