Did you know that one of the best times to fly fish Rhode Island’s coastal rivers is in the fall? The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling, and the fish are running! Join RI DEM DFW’s Aquatic Resource Education program to learn about how to fly fishing Rhode Island’s coastal rivers. This daylong workshop will introduce you to saltwater fly fishing by explaining the gear you need for an enjoyable and safe day out on the water, teaching you effective knot tying and casting techniques, and then taking you out on the water for an afternoon of fishing the Narrow River. Equipment and lunch are provided. Chest waders are recommended. Families with children over 12 years old are welcome.
