State of Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management

Certification course required to hunt with firearms in the State of Rhode Island. There is an exam at the end written to a 6th grade reading level. All materials provided, free of charge. Hunter safety cards will be mailed out within 7 to 10 business days after successfully passing the written exam.

If you have taken the online hunter education course and successfully completed it, you do not need this one, it is the same course content.

When: October 10 (5-9pm) AND October 14 (8-4pm) Must attend both sessions

Location: Kettle Pond Visitors Center- Charlestown RI
