Help Harvest Invasive Water Chestnut at Central Falls Landing

Location: Central Falls Landing, 15 Madeira Ave, Central Falls, RI

Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone are seeking volunteers for their community water chestnut pull on Monday, June 16, at Central Falls Landing in RI (Lonsdale Marsh/Valley Falls Marsh) from 12:30-3:30pm. 

Volunteer opportunities include:

- canoeing and pulling water chestnut from the the marsh
- helping transport water chestnut from volunteers' canoes to the shore via motor boat (captain provided)
- helping pull water chestnut from the boat onto the shore for disposal

Canoes, paddles, PFDs, gloves, and other water chestnut-pulling equipment are all provided.

Registration is not required; volunteers will just need to sign a waiver before participating.

Parking is available on site at 15 Madeira Ave, Central Falls, RI 02863.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes you won't mind getting wet and/or muddy. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and water.
