Partner With Us to Reduce Waste and Improve Recycling

DEM is seeking a community partner (non-governmental organization) to advance outreach efforts in disadvantaged communities to identify the opportunities and barriers for increasing recycling, reducing contamination within recycling, and responsibly managing food resources to maximize edible food usage and reduce food waste.

The sub-award amount is anticipated to be $25,711 via a Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to advance work efforts in disadvantaged communities such as Central Falls, Pawtucket, Cranston, and/or Johnston by performing boots on the ground outreach and community activation to identify the opportunities and barriers for increasing recycling, reducing contamination within recycling, and responsibly managing food resources to maximize edible food usage and to reduce food waste.
