Cinder Worm Workshop

Rhode Island’s USFWS National Refuge System and RIDEM Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Aquatic Resource Education, along with nd project organizers Capt. Ray Stachelek, Dave Pollack and Capt. Jeff Perry are teaming up to host the annual Cinder Worm workshop; one of Rhode Island’s fascinating saltwater spring rituals!
Participants will spend two evenings tying the cinder worm patterns and then have an opportunity to fish them from the shores of Ninigret Salt Pond in Charlestown:
- Flytying Night 1: May 6, 2025, 6:30 to 8:30PM
- Flytying Night 2: May 13, 2025, 6:30 to 8:30PM
- Cinder Worm Fly Fishing Night: May 17, 2025, 4:00 to dark
Instruction and guidance will be provided by some of the area’s most knowledgeable, skilled worm fishermen. There will also be an opportunity for kayak fishing too - limited to experienced kayakers who have their own kayaks, equipped with required safety equipment and lighting for after dark.
Space is limited and registration is required. This program is open to adults and families with children over the age of 10. No experience is required. The course is completely Free of Charge.
