OWR Online Permit Application

DEM is in the final stages of launching an online permit application portal for the Office of Water Resources' (OWR) Groundwater and Freshwater Protection Programs.

Phase One Launch: Tuesday, May 6

No applications accepted or permits issued through May 5 for Freshwater Wetlands, RIPDES Construction General Permit, Water Quality Certification, and Underground Injection Control Programs. Completed applications submitted before April 17 will be moved to the new system. Incomplete and New applications must be submitted online starting May 6. Phase Two Launch: Tuesday, May 20

Thursday, May 1, is the last day DEM will accept OWTS-related paper applications

Join the Newport Tree Conservancy for a virtual lecture on Beech Leaf Disease, which has recently been detected in Newport.

NTC staff will review the latest research on what the disease is, mechanisms of spread, and impact to American and European beeches. Learn to spot signs of BLD, as well as recent insights into treatments that could help preserve these magnificent trees as research continues. The program will include a Q&A session and further resources.
