Americans’ Knowledge, Attitude, and Behaviors around Waterways
What do Americans know, think, and do about waterways? Who takes action- and what messages move them? The 2022 Waterways Literacy Survey answered these questions. Join us to hear what the public thinks about the most relevant issues facing local conservation organizations today.
1,000 Americans answered a range of questions designed to test their knowledge, uncover their opinions, and identify ways to move them to action on behalf of rivers, lakes, streams, wetlands, estuaries, and the ocean. Participants will leave the session with:
- An appreciation of the difference between the perspectives of conservation practitioners and the “general public”
- Insights to guide fundraising, volunteer recruitment, advocacy, and behavior change programs
