Rhode Island’s Most Important Forest Definition

RI DEM and the RI Forest Conservation Commission seek public comments on a draft definition of Rhode Island’s most important forests. The Commission values your feedback and thoughts surrounding one of Rhode Island’s most precious resources – its forestland. Helping to develop Rhode Island’s most important forest definition will work towards creating a framework for ways to protect, enhance, and conserve our forests.

View the draft copy of this definition.

A Zoom meeting will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 6 PM to provide a brief explanation of this definition and provide an opportunity for the public to provide their comments and ask questions.
