Public Comment Hearing re: The Compost Plant, Beneficial Use Determination

The Compost Plant L3C - 182 Swan Street, Providence, RI Pursuant to guidelines of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RI DEM), Office of Land Revitalization and Sustainable Materials Management (LR&SMM), a Public Hearing will be conducted on December 7, 2022, at 4:00pm in Room 300 at the RI DEM address below and on-line on the Zoom meeting address below.

This is to allow public participation and comment with respect to a Beneficial Use Determination (BUD) application, dated October 20, 2022, by The Compost Plant. The BUD before the Office of LR&SMM is to permit a new facility to receive Food Waste and produce a Processed Food Waste Slurry. This material will be delivered by tank trucks to Compost Facilities and Anaerobic Digesters to create fertilizer and methane gas for energy.
