FIRE BAN IN EFFECT In response to the continued elevated risk of wildfires, DEM has issued a fire ban at all State Parks, campgrounds, and management areas until further notice. The ban is effective as of today (10/28/24) and includes campfires in designated campfire areas, including charcoal fires and cooking fires. This preventative measure applies to all DEM-managed lands and aims to reduce the threat of human-caused wildfires. DEM will continue to monitor and evaluate conditions to determine when the ban can be lifted. Together we can protect our communities and keep first responders safe by reducing the risk of wildfires: 📞 Call 911 if you spot a fire/smoke. Timely information is critical to contain fires before they spread. 🔥 Remember, any outdoor fire is a potential source for a wildfire. Be careful with cigarettes and ashes. The fishing or landing licenses of those applying for this program must be renewed for 2024 before a letter of authorization can be issued. Parking Placards for Galilee State Parking Lot G Applications for yearly parking placards for Galilee State Parking Lot G are available for mail-in or in-person submission at RIDEM Division of Coastal Resources at 301 Great Island Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882. Please provide the completed application (link below) and the documents listed on the application. For mail applications, we will mail the completed placard back to the address listed on your application. PDF file, less than 1mbmegabytes The Coastal Resources Division is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the Port of Galilee, State Pier #9 (Newport), State Pier #4 (Jerusalem), State Pier #5 (Narragansett), and Chase Marina (Tiverton). These properties comprise 41 piers and 24 lease holdings with an approximate combined value of over $100 million. The Division also supports the commercial fishing and aquaculture industries in Rhode Island. The Port of Galilee is one of the largest commercial fishing ports on the East Coast and is the home port to over 250 commercial fishing vessels. State Pier #9 is the only state-owned facility supporting commercial fishing vessels in Newport Harbor and provides dockage for approximately 50 vessels.
